Apprentices are allocated a master (mentor) to help them learn the ethos, aims, and charitable activities of The Skinners’ Company, and are invited to events throughout the Skinners’ Year.
To become an Apprentice you must:
- Be offered an apprenticeship by a Member of The Skinners’ Company (Freedom, Livery or Court) or
- Be offered an apprenticeship opportunity by a school in our family of schools nb: Each school has two spaces per year to allocate as they wish
- Be aged between 18 and 24 inclusive
- Serve for a minimum of four years
- Not be apprenticed to any other Livery Company
Responsibilities
- Keeping in contact with their allocated master (mentor)
- Participation in Company activities, including attending the Company Catch Up induction event in September
- Learning about the activities and ethos of the Company
- Online registration to the Members’ Area and keeping contact details up to date
Privileges
- Having a master (mentor) as the first point of contact on Company matters and for general guidance and support throughout the apprenticeship
- Invitations to the Autumn Dinner, Summer Reception, Skinners’ lunches, Heritage Talks, and other informal and sporting events
- Receiving digital communications including the Annual Review and quarterly eNews
- Access to an online Members’ Area and the Company’s social media platforms
