Our Work:

Helping over 7,500 pupils achieve their potential.

By supporting the SEF, you will help us provide the best possible education for pupils in our family of schools across London and the South East.

The diversity of our schools means we are uniquely placed to share expertise across different sectors and a range of communities. We have a strong belief in the power of education to promote social mobility and address disadvantage. Our funding priorities are teacher recruitment and retainment, as well as providing an inclusive education for all pupils.

The Skinners' Company

You may wish to give directly to The Skinners’ Company to support the upkeep of the Grade I Listed Hall on Dowgate Hill and costs including sustaining the Livery fellowship. Whilst these donations will not be eligible for Gift Aid, they will be carefully invested and the income will be used to support The Company for centuries to come.

"While on their work experience programme, I developed my communication skills, my problem solving skills and learnt how to talk to other people."

Tax relief is available to UK taxpayers donating shares and securities listed on the UK stock market, the Alternative Investment Market and recognised stock exchanges overseas. It is also available for units in a UK unit trust and shares in a UK open-ended investment company. You can claim income tax relief equal to the market value of the shares on the day the gift is made, plus any associated costs such as the brokers’ fees.

Gifts of land or property made during a donor’s lifetime attract the same tax incentives as gifts of shares, and other forms of a non-cash gift (such as works of art, books, manuscripts and equipment) which may also be considered as gifts to the Company and its charities.

We recommend getting in touch with us early in the process so that we can work with your financial advisers to help arrange the transaction. Email: donate@skinners.org.uk, early in the process so that we can work with your financial advisers to help arrange the transaction.

Leave a Legacy

If you are considering leaving a legacy to one of The Skinners’ Company causes, thank you. Any gift, large or small, makes a real difference.

Leaving a gift in your will is a very personal decision, and we are here to help. We can put you in touch with legal professionals if required, who can offer expert advice, ensuring peace of mind that your wishes will be followed.

1327 Society

Our 1327 Society is a group for those who have pledged a gift in their will, and a chance for us to acknowledge and thank those who have planned to make a difference in this way. Members receive a beautiful lapel pin of the Cockayne Cup and are invited to an annual event to celebrate their philanthropy.

"I am happy to support the Company via membership of the 1327 Society, to help in the future, with its ongoing charitable endeavours.  The grant-making charities and almshouses help those in need, by tackling poverty, providing homes and assisting with education – all worthy causes.’"
